Free air delivery ranges from 47 to 269 l/s (100 to 569 CFM) across a working pressure range of 5 to 12.75 bar. It sits between the GA 55 and GA 90 in the VSD+ range, and the jump in output over the GA 55 makes it the right choice for larger operations where demand regularly pushes toward the upper end of the capacity band.
The VSD+ system reads actual air demand and adjusts motor speed accordingly, with no wasted idling time and no blow-off losses. Atlas Copco cites average energy savings of up to 50% against fixed-speed models, based on independent energy audit measurements. The machine starts and stops under full system pressure, cuts out start-up current penalties, and operates at lower average system pressure to reduce network leakage.
The drive train centres on Atlas Copco’s Interior Permanent Magnet motor, sealed to IP66 and rated to IE5 efficiency standards. It is oil cooled, coupled directly to the compression element with no gears, belts, or intermediate couplings, and paired with the in-house designed Neos inverter which exceeds IES2 power drive efficiency requirements.
The integrated dryer uses R410A refrigerant, delivers a pressure dew point of 3°C at reference conditions, and meets ISO 8573-1 air quality Class 3.4.4. An electronic no-loss drain handles condensate removal, with a manual bypass available in the event of a power failure.
Control is handled by the Elektronikon Touch controller, with a 4.3-inch colour display, SMARTLINK remote monitoring, dual pressure set points, weekly scheduling, and graphical service plan indication. Optimizer 4.0 compatibility is included for sites managing multiple machines.
Up to 75% of electrical energy input is recoverable as hot air or hot water via Atlas Copco’s integrated energy recovery system, without any effect on compressor performance.
