The Atlas Copco GA 110 VSD+ FF is a 110 kW oil-injected rotary screw compressor with Variable Speed Drive technology and an integrated refrigerant dryer. The Atlas Copco GA 110 VSD+ FF is a 110 kW oil-injected rotary screw compressor and the top-of-range model in Atlas Copco’s GA 75-110 VSD+ series. With an integrated Full Feature refrigerant dryer and Variable Speed Drive Plus technology, it covers a free air delivery range of 47 to 348 l/s (100 to 736 CFM) across a working pressure range of 5 to 12.75 bar. For large industrial operations where compressed air demand is both high and variable, it is the natural endpoint of the range.
The VSD+ system adjusts motor speed in real time to match actual demand, with no idling losses and no blow-off waste. Atlas Copco cites average energy savings of up to 50% against fixed-speed equivalents, verified by independent energy audit. The machine runs up to full load and back without unloading, with start-up current penalties eliminated and lower average system pressure cutting leakage across the wider network.
The drive train uses Atlas Copco’s Interior Permanent Magnet motor, rated to IE5 efficiency, oil cooled, and sealed to IP66. The Neos inverter, designed in-house, exceeds IES2 power drive efficiency requirements. Direct coupling between the motor and compression element means no gears, no belts, and nothing in the drive train that requires scheduled replacement.
The integrated dryer operates on R410A refrigerant, achieves a pressure dew point of 3°C at reference conditions, and meets ISO 8573-1 air quality Class 3.4.4. Condensate removal is handled by an electronic no-loss drain with manual bypass. The dryer is monitored and controlled through the Elektronikon system as a fully integrated part of the machine.
The Elektronikon Touch controller features a 4.3-inch colour display, built-in SMARTLINK remote monitoring, dual pressure set points, weekly scheduling, and graphical service plan indication. It is compatible with Atlas Copco’s Optimizer 4.0 for centralised management of multiple compressors.
Up to 75% of electrical energy input is recoverable as hot air or hot water through Atlas Copco’s integrated energy recovery option, with no adverse effect on compressor performance.
